Nats take no chances, scratch Strasburg

By Bud L. Ellis

The Washington Nationals have experienced a huge bump in attention and buzz thanks to Stephen Strasburg. There was no way the Nats’ brass was going to take any chances with their rookie sensation.

That’s why it was Miguel Batista, and not the No. 1 overall pick from last year’s draft, delivering the first pitch Tuesday against Atlanta at Nationals Park. Strasburg was scratched from his scheduled start after experiencing shoulder stiffness while warming up in the bullpen. (Read More…)
